Welcome to the Pre-Health Advising Website

This Website will provide information and guidance to all Texas State students who would like to apply to any of the following types of professional schools:

  • medical (allopathic and osteopathic)
  • dental
  • physician assistant
  • optometry
  • podiatric medicine
  • chiropractic medicine
  • naturopathic medicine

 PRE-HEALTH ADVISING APPOINTMENTS

We use the Navigate TXST online appointment booking system to set up one-on-one meetings. 

Please follow these guidelines for determining your designated pre-health advisor.

  • If you are a current student, use the following links to access our appointment booking calendars.  We offer both in-person and virtual (Zoom) appointments each week. 
  • Alumni cannot access the appointment booking system.  Please email your designated pre-health advisor to set up an appointment. 
  • Students interested in attending Texas State can email general questions to us at PH_advising@txstate.edu. 

If your student ID number (A05xxx) ends in an ODD number (13579), Dr. Erica Nierth is your designated pre-health advisor. erica.nierth@txstate.edu

If your student ID number (A05xxx) ends in an EVEN number (02468), Dr. Banta is your designated pre-health advisor. marilyn.banta@txstate.edu 

Dr. Banta is the designated JAMP Faculty Director (JFD) for Texas State. Those interested in applying to or learning more about JAMP should meet with Dr. Banta, regardless of student ID number.
